Freshman year of high school is intimidating enough – new schools, new friendships, new experiences. Navigating your way through learning the ins and outs of becoming a young adult is not easy. When I met Brittany and Collin for the first time, I could tell their genuine personalities were the type to find the best in any situation. That is why when their paths first crossed in Mr. Moore’s freshman English class, they hit it off right away. Chatting first as friends and then letting their relationship blossom into more as they matured through their high school journey. Brittany can’t remember if they ever had a real first date, but it was more than likely meeting up at Darien Community Park then hanging out and talking for hours.
These two have been by each other’s side for the last nine years. Destiny carved a path for them as they graduated high school, went off to college, started careers and bought a new home. They were there together as best friends through it all. Collin had known Brittany was “the one” for some time and it was just a matter of finding the right moment to ask Brittany to be his wife. Imagine spending countless hours together but when it came down to that one evening, Collin was still a bit nervous. Collin had chosen the perfect pear-shaped diamond ring for Brittany. On the night he proposed, he told a Brittany he was working late as he stopped by the jeweler for the ring. After dinner at their favorite restaurant he got down on one knee and slipped the ring on Brittany’s finger.
We met up this weekend at a park near to their home to celebrate and capture their engagement. Although the weather looked as though it might rain, it held out long enough for us to capture their beautiful love story. It was also a perfect day to bring their pup, Duke, to be in a few of their photos. Brittany and Collin – we can’t wait to share in your special day and I am so excited to share a few favorites from your engagement session.
