Joslyn & Zach
It hardly feels like March when you wake up to subzero temperatures – and although there’s still snow and ice on the ground, I truly enjoy looking back on warmer summer days. One such fond memory of this past summer was meeting up with Joslyn and Zach for their engagement session. The beaches in Chicago may be frozen and mostly deserted at this time, but last summer they were buzzing with joyous warmth and activity. Joslyn and Zach wanted to incorporate their love of Chicago and its spectacular lake front views into their engagement session – so heading down to North Avenue beach was the perfect spot to spend the afternoon capturing these two sweet souls.
Joslyn and Zach’s paths first crossed in preschool. Although it wasn’t until many years later that they realized how fate at already started playing a hand in their lives. Although they don’t recall much of each other from their pre-k days, it was in high school when Zach mustered up the courage to ask Joslyn out on their first date. Not just any first date it, this was the for Senior Prom. Way to swing for the fences with that one! Zach had been on Joslyn’s radar, so it was a quick “yes” to join him on their biggest high school night. That was the first of many celebratory events in their lives.
These two professionals concentrated on school and after 9 years together, it was one a trip to Europe when Zach asked for Joslyn to be his forever. This my friends, is the perfect romantic movie plot. It was the last stop of their European vacation – Paris. The City of Love. After checking into the hotel, Zach and Joslyn ate at a quaint French restaurant near the Eiffel tower. As dinner drew to an end, they walked hand in hand reflecting on their vacation and their lives together. Stopping to watch the elaborate Eiffel tower light show, Zach got down on his knee as ask Joslyn to be his wife. How much more romantic can that be?
I have been so excited to get to know Josyln and Zach throughout their planning process. Marc and I are looking forward to capturing the beginning of their story as husband and wife on their June wedding day.
