This week is shaping up to be one of the coldest in Chicago’s recent history. It is hard to reminisce on warmth and sunshine when the temperatures aren’t slated to get above zero for much of the week. I thought I would take this opportunity to share one of our hottest summer weddings of the year. The sun was shining on Lauren and Connor’s wedding day as the temperature skyrocketed into the nineties. The beautiful theme of blush pink with garden accents was the perfect pallet for a warm summer’s day.
Lauren and Connor first met in a high school history class they shared. However, it wasn’t until after graduate school, when they reconnected through mutual friends, that they started falling for each other. After three years of dating, Connor planned to ask Lauren to marry him. One of the things we have gotten to know about Lauren throughout the wedding planning process, was how much she loved their rescue dogs Cinder and Cici. One evening, after a romantic dinner, Lauren opened the door to their home only to find their dogs with “Marry Me” bandanas around their necks. It was a perfect surprise for Lauren. After saying “yes” they began the celebration and then the planning.
The day was coming together beautifully – one of my favorite moments was when Lauren pulled her 97-year-old grandfather on the floor for a special dance. He was so proud and happy to be dancing with his granddaughter and oh boy did he have some moves to show off. With everyone singing and clapping along, the joy of the celebration continued throughout the evening as it evolved into one of the most crowded and fun dance floors.
I am so excited to finally share these beautiful summer garden wedding photos. Lauren and Connor – we were so honored to be a part of your day and know the fun and excitement of this day will carry through for many years to come.
A special thanks to all the vendors who made Lauren & Connor’s day beautiful!
