Sometimes it happens, true love isn’t found half way across town, or the in another city or state. Sometimes you find your soul mate right down the street. Rob and Heather initially met when Rob lived next door to Heather’s grandmother. She thought he was a cute and sweet guy – but it wasn’t until Rob’s co-worker started talking about his girlfriend’s sister that Rob realized he already knew who she was… his neighbor’s granddaughter. Rob asked Heather out for a movie date, and as they say… the rest is almost history.
It was when Heather first reached out to me about photographing her and Rob’s wedding day that I found out that not only was she about to be a new bride, but also an expecting mama! When we all met up last week at their beautiful Durango home, Rob reminisced about how he proposed last year. Rob already had the ring – it was sitting safely tucked away in their home. On the day of the proposal, Heather came home with some exciting news… he told Rob she was expecting. Rob ran into the house, grabbed the ring, and asked if she wanted to take their dog for a walk around their property. They started talking about the news they had just received and how their lives were changing, when Rob stopped and dropped to one knee. Heather was in shock for a moment but then threw her arms around him and said yes! Talk about a day with so much to celebrate.
Heather and Rob’s beautiful Durango home was the perfect spot to start their engagement session, especially since this was the place where they got engaged. Their land is beautiful with shade trees and winding paths – it was the perfect place to capture their love. Now their precious little Logan has also blessed their lives and we were so pleased to include her in some portraits too!
Heather and Rob are planning an October wedding in beautiful Galena, IL and of course we are looking forward to sharing in their special day.
