When I first chatted with Jenna & Bryan during our initial meeting, it didn’t take long for them to express their love of the best team in baseball. Yes… the Chicago Cubs. Now I have been a Cubs fan since my grandpa gave me my first cubs hat (which I still have) when I was a little girl. When I was young, my grandfather used to watch me during the day while my parents worked. I remember him tuning the TV to WGN and he and I would take naps on the couch after we sang the 7th inning stretch. I knew Jenna, Bryan, and I were going to hit it right off right from the start. It was during this first chat they also mentioned how they had met during the Summer of 2013 at a Cubs game watching from a rooftop. If you happen to know the Wrigleyville scene, you know rooftop game watching from neighboring streets is a fun way to see the boys in blue play. These rooftops can become pretty packed in the summer and it was a warm July game when Jenna’s friends huddled up to a group of Bryan’s friends. Jenna recollected that it took nearly 9 innings for Bryan to strike up a conversation and she was sure glad that he did. The cubs won that memorable game and for these two, and the memories had just begun.
Jenna and Bryan’s love of the Cubs continued to the proposal when Bryan proposed to Jenna right outside of Wrigley Field. The wedding plans have been in full swing since then – and later this year Jenna and Bryan are going to be saying I DO!
When it came time to pick a location for their engagement session, there was, of course, no hesitation. We needed to be right around Wrigley Field. It was a perfectly beautiful day to capture the love these two have found in each other. After we had wondered around Wrigleyville for a while, we then headed to Lincoln Park where we captured some beautiful lighting around the South Pond. It was the end of the session when I asked Jenna for her ring, so I could capture a few closeup shots. She had mentioned how Bryan had the ring designed using the diamond from her Aunts ring as the center piece. The ring from her aunt also had another diamond. That second diamond is in her sister’s ring.
The all-around wonderfully touching stories between these two make me so excited to be a part of and capture their wedding day. In the meantime, here are a few favorites from their engagement session.
